Shakob on October 9th, 2008

On our holiday we left on a Sunday. On that Sunday We had lunch before catching the ferry. When we got of the Ferry we met up with my grandparents and had tea at Kadina.

We drove to Adelaide and stayed in a Hotel because we hadn’t picked up our Caravan yet. The next day we did shopping for our Caravan, we the went to my great grandparents house. We then picked up our Caravan and took it to Levi Caravan Park. We then went to our cousins house for tea and watched some of the brownlow medal count. We had our first sleep in our caravan. The next day we did some more shopping.

Next we had a long drive to Hay where we slept for 1 night.

The next day we drove to Adaminaby in the snowy mountains. It finally came we went to the snow the next day. Except when we left home the snowfields we were going to had a metre of snow. When we got to the caravan park they said there is hardly any snow left and would be 2 and a 1/2 hours to the next place. We ended up going to that place anyway [ Selwyn Snowfields ]. There was enough snow for tobogganing and I stood up on the toboggan so it was like snow boarding.

The next day we went to the snowy mountain hydro scheme information place in Cooma, and then kept driving to Canberra.

The next day we went to the War Memorial then after lunch went to the botanic gardens to meet up with mums friends. The next day we spent most of the day at Questacon watching shows, having lunch and going to the gallery’s. We bought this ticket at Questacon that lets you go to Questacon, Cookington Green Gardens, Australian Institute Of Sport and one of them again. the next day we went to a Dinosaur museum, Cookington green gardens and Parliament House. The next day we went to Australian Institute Of Sport, Mint and the Australian Museum. The next day we went to the Space Center just out of Canberra and the Animal Reserve next to it. The next day we went to Floriade and back to Questacon to do the good things then we went to see mums uncle and auntie and mums cousin came. The next day we went to Bowral to see our cousins who live in Sydney and we saw the Sir Donald Bradman Museum.

The newt day we drove to Wagga Wagga to sleep there.

Then we drove to Mildura to sleep there.

From Mildura we drove home and on the way we saw the best playground, and when we got to Port Augusta we stayed there for a while and got tea from pizza hut and then we drove straight home.

WHAT I DID IN CANBERRA

admin on October 2nd, 2008

by Shell-Bell

I went to Questacon. I went in the earthquake house. It was bumpy. it was funny because the cupboard and fridge opened up, the wall cracked and the other cupboard fell down. I went on this balancing box. There was a car that you could drive with a steering wheel and a screen. There was this thing that you press the button and it says “ready, set, walk” and then you walk as fast as you can and then there’s this thing that tells you how fast you went. There is 7 galleries. I went to all of them. We saw this shark movie and we sat on the seats with the 3D glasses on. The seats move because it makes it feel like you’re underwater with sharks.

I went to the Institute of Sport. On the tour we were in a play area where all different sports. I learnt lots of things there. And the one thing I learnt was the longest jump ever.

On Friday we are going to go to Questacon again. On Friday we are going to Floriade.

We saw little houses. There was buttons that you could press to make the train move different ways. There was 4 or 5 buttons to move the windmills round and round. We went on a steam train ride.

When we went to this money thing we made our own $1 coin. It was $2.60. There was this change machine that you put in a note and some money came out. There was this show that talked about how to make money.

At the War Memorial we got to choose out of a sticker that was a horse, a bird or a camel. On the tour we saw a horse and a camel and a bird. We learnt about the war. There was a helicopter in the Discovery Zone and a submarine and there was a trench that we got to go in and a nurse’s bike and a hopscotch.

We saw a cubby house and a kitchen and an old car at the museum. We got to play on a computer to make your own backyard. We got a photo and then we went in to design a house a spaceship or a car. We got 3D glasses and then went through the curtains, put on our 3D glasses and saw our spaceships in the future.

We went up to the roof at Parliament House with the big Australia flag. We got to sit and look where the Prime Minister sits. We sent postcards from the Parliament House post office.

In the Dinosaur Museum we got to answer questions and find bones of the dinosaur on the sheet of paper that we had. We got dinosaur lollies.
