One Month To Go

Today marks the “1 month until we leave” milestone!!!!

It’s unreal to think how quickly this trip is coming.

The seed is now in the ground and while there are still a number of jobs to be done on the farm before we go, seeding was a big milestone to get over.

I’m starting to make a list of all the things that need to be done before we go. Hopefully that will stop the constant whirring of my brain and I try to keep a handle on what still needs to be done.

The reality is that we’re well on track to be ready to leave when we’d originally planned. The house might not be “perfect” before we go but it should be pretty reasonable. There are still a number of farm jobs to be done but for the most part, we seem to be on track there as well. There’ll still be a last minute flurry but I think that’s almost unavoidable.

The biggest things I need to focus on in the next few weeks are the recipe cards I want to make and to finalise some of the kids schoolwork projects I’ve been working on.

I also need to make some decisions about what tickets we’re going to pre-purchase from the RAA and organise those. It’s a toss up between wanting to take advantage of the discounted prices and wanting to keep our options open about what we will and won’t do. We’re thinking we’ll get some for the places we definitely want to see and leave the others open to decide as we go.

Life is busy and there’s plenty to be done before we go. Most of it just “life” rather than preparation. I think we’ll be ready for a break by the time we leave.
